I am a Board Certified, fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in the surgical treatment of tumors and lesions of the pelvis and extremities in patients of all ages. This includes both soft tissue and bony tumors such as sarcomas, metastatic disease, and benign lesions.

In addition I treat more common orthopaedic issues such as hip and knee arthritis and perform the latest robotic hip and knee replacements.

Orthopaedic oncology often involves complex limb salvage procedures and reconstructions of bone and soft tissue defects, and these skills may also be required in cases of severe bone loss or deformity from trauma, joint replacement, or infection.

Many times patients are referred to an orthopaedic oncologist after having been seen by another orthopaedic surgeon. Often an abnormality is found on imaging or exam and the patient is referred for additional work-up and expertise.

My approach to patient care is to treat patients with kindness, care, and compassion. In addition, I strive for good communication in the doctor/patient relationship. In my opinion, this is best achieved by taking the time to educate patients about their illness, so they have a clear understanding of what needs to be done and why.
